It was a national holidy, which just compounded the mass of people flocking to the Nanzen Temple to see the foliage. This is the view of a minor route to the temple, from the Kyoto Incline above. Ugh, what a crowd. I was glad that the incline was almost deserted, and we could enjoy it in peace.
