Just above (in the view of this photo) the center pit is the path far below with 12 pits making up the lower part of the long right "foot" of the character.	28-Nov-2005    12:23.51 PM Looking down the mountain at the left "foot" of the big 大 and the fire pits that make it up. Because the mountain is so steep it's hard to see all the pits (some near ones obscure some far ones), but there are a *lot*. The photo makes it look as if the slope is fairly gentle, but as someone who's walked down it and attempted to run up it, let me assure you that it is very un-gentle.	28-Nov-2005    12:24.06 PM A little shrine at the center of the 大 character. Prior to today's climb, I had no idea that all this stuff was here. I thought it was just a cleared-away area with some piles of brush that were burnt.
