We took a path back behind the incline, up a fairly good grade, back to a cemetary in the middle of the mountains. Then it was time for a milk break.

Then continud on back to a temple or shrine of some sort. (I still don't really know the differnece between a templee and a shirne. Shimada-san explained it to me, and I thought I understood, but whatever it was, it didn't stick.)

The temple (or shirne -- whatever) was pretty much in the mountains already, and from there a path went up into the mountains more. We knew that one branch of the path would eventually lead us to the back of the Nanzen temple, so we decided to give it a try. Anthony was a real trooper.

Anthony got tired and after a while wanted to be carried. Such requests come at a price, and Daddy got a kiss out of it.
